Ingredients You’ll Need

Here’s everything to have ready before the chocolate sets.

  • Red candy melts
  • Brownie bites chopped into small pieces
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Peppermint candy canes
  • Santa marshmallows
  • Chocolate shavings – I used a veggie peeler and a candy bar
  • A little melted chocolate for attaching the handle and Santa face
  • Chocolate spoons save time and use store-bought!
  • Reindeer sprinkle (or whatever you want to use)

Step-by-Step Instructions

These adorable cups are fast, easy, and full of Christmas charm.

Step 1: Make the Chocolate Cups

  • Begin by melting the red candy melts until smooth, following the package instructions.
  • Next, spoon the chocolate into each mold cavity, filling them to the top of the mold.
  • Give it a few taps on the table to remove air bubbles.
  • Chill until firm, then gently pop the chocolate cups out and stand them upright.

Step 2: Add the Santa Face

  • Use a dab of candy melt to attach the Santa marshmallow to the front of the cup.

Step 3: Fill the Cups

  • Now, add chopped brownie bits to the inside of the cup, filling it almost to the top of the rim.
  • Next, drizzle a little chocolate syrup on top to make it extra yummy
  • Then finish with a sprinkle of chocolate shavings and a few mini marshmallows for that adorable cocoa mug look.

Step 4: Attach the Candy Cane Handle

  • Using a bit of melted chocolate, attach the mini candy cane to the side of the cup, making sure it is straight.
  • While candy melts typically begin to set quickly, if you are in a rush, you may need to brace the handle until the candy sets enough to hold. It took me 2 – 3 minutes of holding it in place until I could let go without the candy cane falling off.
  • Once the handle is attached, be careful around it while finishing the cups, as it takes a bit for the candy to completely harden.

Decorate the Chocolate Spoons

  • Take your store-bought chocolate spoons and add a tiny dab of melted chocolate to the “bowl” of each spoon.
  • Press a mini candy reindeer into the melted chocolate so it sits right in place.
  • Let them rest for a minute so the reindeer sticks firmly.
  • Place one decorated spoon beside or leaning against each Santa Chocolate Cup for the cutest finishing touch!

And ta da, your Santa Chocolate Cups are finished! They’re cute enough to make Santa himself smile.
