These oatmeal creme pie reindeer are ready for Christmas, red noses and all! A few simple craft supplies turn individually wrapped snacks into the cutest little Rudolph treats, without even opening the packages.

There’s no baking or candy melting here. Just tuck the extra wrapper out of the way, add antlers and a face, and your oatmeal creme pies are dressed for the holidays. It’s a fun little project when you want something festive to hand out but don’t have time to make treats from scratch. Plus, it is so easy to make; the kids can make them.
My favorite little trick is taping the loose plastic to the back first. It lets the round pie show through and gives those googly eyes a smoother place to sit. Such a small step, but it makes a difference!
Why You’ll Love These Reindeer Treats
- The snacks stay wrapped. You decorate the outside of each original package.
- No oven needed. Start with ready-made oatmeal creme pies and get straight to crafting.
- Simple supplies. Googly eyes, pipe cleaners, and a red nose are all it takes to make that familiar reindeer face.
- Easy to make in batches. Shape the antlers first, then work through the faces one at a time.
How to Make Oatmeal Creme Pie Reindeer
These oatmeal creme pie reindeer are quick, easy, and almost too cute to give away! With just a few simple supplies, they make a fun Christmas craft to do with the kids or set up as a holiday party activity. Everyone can make their own little Rudolph, then take home a sweet treat!
What You’ll Need
- Individually wrapped oatmeal creme pies, 1 per reindeer
- Regular craft googly eyes, 2 per reindeer
- Red M&Ms, 1 per reindeer
- Brown pipe cleaners
- Craft glue
- Clear tape
- Scissors
A quick note: The face and antlers are decorations on the wrapper. The glued M&M is decorative, too, and should be discarded with the packaging. You could also use a red pom-pom instead; I just didn’t have any. 🙂
Let’s Make Some Little Rudolphs!
Step 1: Tidy Up the Wrapper
Start with a sealed oatmeal creme pie. Gently pull the excess plastic toward the back so the front sits snugly over the pie. Fold the extra plastic down on the back and hold it with clear tape.
This helps the pie keep its round shape instead of getting lost inside a baggy package.
Step 2: Shape the Antlers
Cut brown pipe cleaners into longer pieces for the main antlers and shorter pieces for the little branches. Wrap a short piece around each main piece, then bend the ends outward to make a forked antler.
Make two antlers for each reindeer. Hold them behind the pie as you work so you can see how much will peek above the top. They don’t have to match exactly!

Step 3: Attach the Antlers
Position the antlers on the back of the wrapper with their branched ends sticking up above the pie. Secure the lower portions with clear tape.
Step 4: Add the Eyes and Red Nose
Next, turn the package over and use a dab of glue to attach the two eyes. Add a red M&M underneath for Rudolph’s nose.
Give the glue time to dry before moving or stacking the reindeer. Then those sweet little faces are ready to show off!

Tips for Cute Reindeer Faces
- Fold the plastic first. It’s easier to position the face once the wrapper is snug and taped at the back.
- Check the antlers from the front. Make sure both peek above the pie before you tape them down.
- Lay out the face before gluing. Moving the eyes closer together or a little farther apart changes the expression.
- Let the glue dry. Give the eyes and nose time to hold before packing the treats.
Ways to Share Your Reindeer
Tuck one into a Christmas gift bag, set a few in a basket for a holiday gathering, or add them to a place setting as a little take-home treat. They’re a cute way to dress up an everyday snack without making a whole batch of cookies.
If you’re planning to send them to school or a group event, check the snack and craft rules first. Keep the ingredient and allergen information available, and remind them not to eat the M&M nose.

Making Them Ahead
You can assemble the reindeer ahead of your gathering. Let the glue dry completely, then keep them in a clean, dry spot using the storage directions and best-by date on the oatmeal creme pie package. Arrange them so the antlers and faces won’t be crushed.
Oatmeal Creme Pie Reindeer FAQs
Are the eyes candy eyes?
These are regular craft googly eyes, not candy eyes. They stay on the wrapper and need to be discarded before the snack is eaten.
Can you eat the red M&M nose?
Once it has been attached with craft glue, treat it as a decoration and discard it with the wrapper. The oatmeal creme pie inside stays sealed until you’re ready to eat it.
How do I keep the wrapper from looking baggy?
Gently pull the extra plastic toward the back, fold it down, and tape it in place. That little tuck helps the face sit neatly over the round pie.
