Easy Thanksgiving Turkey Cheese Ball
A fun and festive Turkey Cheese Ball that’s creamy, crunchy, and colorful, the perfect make ahead Thanksgiving appetizer that doubles as edible décor.
Ingredients
- 1 cucumber, cut into sticks
- 1 bell pepper, sliced into strips
- 1 carrot, peeled and cut into sticks
- 8 pickled chiles
- 7 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup chopped mixed nuts, walnuts, pecans, or almonds
- ½ tsp dried garlic
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ⅓ cup assorted pretzels, stick or mini twist
- 1 round cracker, for the turkey’s head
- 2 cups fall leaf shaped chips
- 2 candy eyes, 1 yellow M&M or small glazed seed, and 1 red candy heart sprinkle sprinkle for the face
- 2 graham cracker sticks for the legs, ( 2 Pirouline cookies or pretzel rods will work as well)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- With damp hands, roll the mixture into a firm ball and place it on a serving board or platter.
- Finely chop the nuts and roll the cheese ball in them until coated all around.
- Spread a little honey on the round cracker and stick on the candy eyes, the yellow M&M or glazed seed for the beak, and a red heart sprinkle for the wattle beak to create the turkey’s face. Gently press the cracker onto the front of the cheese ball to create the head.
- Cut the cucumber, carrot, and celery sticks, then slice the bell pepper into strips. Arrange the veggies and pickled chiles behind the cheese ball in a colorful fan shape for the tail.
- Insert two graham cracker sticks into the bottom of the cheese ball for the legs. You can also use Pirouline cookies, pretzel rods, or even breadsticks for a fun variation.
- Add a few pretzel sticks for extra feathers and place the fall leaf-shaped chips around the base.
